Boost and Support the Immune, Respiratory System with plant medicine and Desert Fire Cider
How do you prepare for cold, flu and allergy season? Some load up on vitamin c In upping their dosage of vitamin C, taking emergenC, eating more oranges, but have you heard of Fire Cider?
Fire cider is a traditional immune supporting remedy incorporating zesty and spicy ingredients from our spice cabinets and vegetable bins. Herbalist Rosemary Gladstar created this herbal recipe over 30 years ago and over the years there has been many different versions of Fire Cider. Adding herbs that can strengthen, enhance the immune system while everyone around us are getting ill and at the first sign of coming down with “something”. I’ve personally found taking a shot of fire cider (mine is Desert Fire Cider) 3 times a day has been helpful in keeping me healthy. There are other important factors like, getting enough sleep, rest and repair. Drinking enough fluids, eating nourishing foods. Todays society is about going going going even when we are sick. There is even some sort of guilt to calling out sick from work, if your are a business owner the heavy guilty felling of considering not working lingers. Even if we are taking vitamins, shots of Fire Cider while working long days and not getting adequate sleep, our bodies will not heal. We heal in our sleep, so getting rest is essential to getting over the cold or flu.
I am hosting two hands-on workshops both focused optimizing our health, boosting and enhancing the immune, respiratory system and helping during allergy season on November 17, 2018.
Class I is, ELDERBERRY SYRUP with DESERT PLANTS. I will jen sharing this herbal tonic using immunostimulanting herbs adding local medicinal flora of the Mojave Desert. (info in my events calenda)
Class II is DESERT FIRE CIDER at Cactus Mart. Desert Fire Cider is an adaptation of the classic herbal recipe of horseradish, garlic, onion, ginger, cayenne, echinacea, cinnamon etc. What makes it’s a Desert Fire Cider is that I have sourced medicinal flora native to the Mojave for this tasty and spicy concoction and adding other non native herbs to the Mojave like Stinging Nettle, Hibiscus etc.
