Join the CNPS Mojave Desert chapter for a Unique Native Plant Hike– Traditional & Modern Uses of Mojave Desert Flora
Explore the fascinating world of native plants and their traditional and modern uses with botanist, bio-regional herbalist, naturalist Christina Sanchez on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 10 AM to 1 PM.
During this immersive field walk, you'll learn to identify and understand the medicinal and ecological significance of key native species, including:
🌿 Creosote Bush (Larrea tridentata)🌿 White Sage (Salvia apiana)🌿 Muller’s Oak (Quercus cornelius-mulleri)🌿 Mojave Desert California Buckwheat (Eriogonum fasciculatum var. polifolium)🌿 Parry’s Jujube (Ziziphus parryi)
This gentle, meandering hike takes place in a rarely visited canyon, accessible only through private land—a truly special opportunity. Presented free of charge by the Mojave Desert Chapter of CNPS, this intimate event is limited to 20 participants. We will take a ½-hour break for lunch, and there will be plenty of resting points along the way.
